Kitchen Inn: Thornlie

Comfort food for me is Asian food. I love a big plate of oily stir fried noodles when I’m feeling a bit slump…yeah not the healthiest choice but it does the trick. Kitchen Inn has 2 restaurants in Perth and serves traditional hawker style Chinese food that you will find in Singapore and Malaysia. You know a Chinese restaurant serves authentic food when it is filled up with Chinese people. Make sure you come early because seats fill up really fast.

What we ordered:

  • Braised pork flat noodles (My fav)
  • Fried kuey teow
  • Fried rice cakes

What we thought: The taste is very authentic and the prices are extremely reasonable. Not somewhere I would eat on a daily basis as the dishes are glistering with oil. A meal for 1 will cost you $10-15 and will leave you very satisfied. I’m not sure if I would trek all the way here to have a meal but if you happen to be in the area then be sure to check it out. Don’t order the rice cakes though – it gets very sickening and heavy after a few mouthfuls. My mum can make better 😛
