Sprolo

I love it when there is a new kid in town. It’s even better when the new joint is so close to home for me!

Sprolo is opened up by ex-baristas of Epic Espresso. So if you are a fan of Epic then you’ll love Sprolo. The name ‘Sprolo’ came about combining the words ‘Spro’ (barista abbreviation for espresso) and ‘YOLO’ (you only live once).

I noticed that one of the baristas there was my regular barista from Hoopla Espresso so seeing all these familiar faces gives me comfort that I am in safe hands.

Coffee: Just to my taste! Velvety smooth coffee. Mmmm…

Food: The sous vide eggs were absolutely perfect. I did see a couple of Thermomixes out the back so no wonder the eggs were cooked to perfection. Kaya spread (coconut jam) was nice but I prefer the green coloured ones better. The brown version doesn’t have as much of a coconut punch as the green ones. I do wish their menu was more extensive cause we’ve already almost tried everything. Good to see the reasonable pricing of the dishes. Breakfast under $20 these days is pretty rare.

Ambience: Modern but hipster feel. There are a couple of deconstructed guitars hanging on the wall. I love it!

Overall: Would definitely come back again. I enjoyed the chillaxed feel this cafe and loved how the food brings back so many memories of Singapore.
