Northbridge Chinese Restaurant (CNY Dinner #1)

I know it gets confusing when you try and explain to people that you are going to “Northbridge Chinese Restaurant”. 99% of the time they will reply “which one?” In the Asian community we also refer to it by its Chinese name – Lok Fook or Liu Foo.

Chinese New Year is not for another 2 days but we celebrated early with my mum’s side of the family since everyone will be busy during CNY. I dread CNY…15 days of non-stop eating! I know that may sound awesome to some of you but its pretty much eating heavy chinese food for 15 days+

The Chinese are very superstitious to the point that everything has to be of a lucky number – even number of dishes that are ordered! So my mum ordered the banquet which consisted of 8 dishes for good luck.

What we ordered: Check out these massive servings!!

Shark fin soup

Verdict: 10/10
It’s still my favourite Chinese restaurant in Perth. Well, for a more “fine dining” banquet styled meal. The food is consistently awesome! The dimsum here is one of my favourites too. Although there are more and more good dimsum joints popping up all over Perth, including the suburbs. I know they have recently changed owners (original owner sold it off to his sister) but the chefs and staff all stayed.
