Operating out of a “hole in the wall” 2m x 4m coffee window squeezed between Stormie Mills’ art studio and Magenta Creative Agency, BOO claims to be Perth’s small cafe. When it opened its doors on Friday August 21st, BOO donated 100% of its sales to charity.
BOO has been a popular destination for people…and uh…our four legged canine friends. BOO serves up delicious coffee in these outrageous cool skull mugs and puppycinos in takeaway cups to dogs (made of goats milk).
When I first heard about these skull mugs I rushed down to BOO asap! The girl laughed at me when I was taking photos with the biggest (stupid) grin on my face. I wasn’t smiling because I was able to get my hands on these mugs…I was smiling because on my first visit I was denied my coffee to be served in these mugs 🙁 The girl working at the time said they are yet to start using these mugs. So now imagine my excitement when I finally got my hands on one! (Man, I sound so dorky…)
What is interesting is that BOO switches its coffee blend from an AM blend to a PM blend at noon everyday. I really enjoyed the Am blend as it had undertones of malt, chocolate and caramel. I heard that the PM blend has floral undertones to it.
How good does the Nutella hot chocolate and Belgian dark chocolate drinks sound?! Even the cold press juice has my tastes buds tingling!
I didn’t expect BOO to serve food since they don’t really have a space for a kitchen but they surprised me with a toasties menu. Hot, melted, fresh cheese jammed between two slices of freshly toasted bread on a cold windy morning? Yes please! They were quite reasonably priced at $6.50 each.
We even scored a free donut! Winner!
