San Churros Northbridge

Being the greedy piggies that we are…straight after our mega pig out at The Standard Bar, Htet, Miss Eat A Lot, The Food Forager and I ventured to San Churros to claim Miss Eat A Lot’s free birthday churros.

If you sign up for San Churro’s mailing list you’ll be gifted a free churros for two (valued at $14.95) on your birthday! My birthday is just around the corner so I guess I’ll be eating churros again very soon 🙂

For the dipping sauces we chose the spanish caramel and thick classic hot chocolate dip-cups. Both were nice and went well together if you like a bit of an extra coating.

I’ve never had a bad churro experience here (or any other branch for that matter) as its all made fresh-to-order. I personally can’t eat more than half a churro to myself.

Intrigued by the new desserts range we decided to give one of them a go – the melting chocolate bomba. I should have really taken a video to capture the bomba melting away as the hot raspberry coulis was poured over the dark chocolate bomba, revealing the frozen vanilla and raspberry semifreddo hidden within. Poor Htet burnt his delicate man hands as he was pouring the coulis.

Its awesome to see generic dessert franchises like San Churros step up their game adding new and inventive desserts to their menu. The bomba was nice but nothing to rave on about. I think I still prefer the churros over the bomba.

Verdict: 6.5/10 – not my go to place for desserts but its a good late night alternative. Everything here is always so creamy, heavy, and rich. I’m a light dessert kind of girl!
